It would be an understatement to say that the world is a little uncertain right now. With new information available each day, we adjust our plans and adapt new measures to make sure we’re keeping our family safe and healthy. One way to make sure we’re taking care of our kids’s health ? Follow their regular vaccination schedule.
According to the guidelines published by the WHO, immunisation is a part of essential services and should continue according to the national schedule. These vaccines help protect your children from many serious illnesses and help bolster their immunity.
While skipping a dose may not seem to be a big deal, in reality, maintaining good coverage of immunisations will help avoid outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases. A preventable outbreak could further increase the numbers of patients requiring health services, resulting in additional stress on the economy and healthcare industry.
To maintain your child’s immunisation coverage:
Talk to your doctor about your child’s vaccination and set up your appointment. Make sure you’re practising preventive measures such as washing your hands often, staying 2 m away from other people, avoid touching your mouth and eyes and reminding your kids to do the same. Your doctor may have introduced some preventive measures at the clinic to limit the physical contact so ask them about it when you’re booking your appointment.
Nurturey Immunisation tool informs you when the next immunisation is due and will helpfully send timely reminders. With so many things out of our control right now, your child’s immunisation schedule is in your hand. Let’s make sure that we do all to keep them healthy and safe!
NOTE: If you or your child have the virus or show symptoms and have been advised to self-isolate, inform your doctor and reschedule the appointment as soon as your self-isolation is over.
